Key Canadian tax dates for 2026 to help you stay compliant and avoid penalties
Note: When a deadline falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, the deadline is extended to the next business day. Always verify dates with CRA for your specific situation.
Personal Tax Deadlines
T4, T5, and Other Slips Due
Employers must issue T4 slips to employees. T5 and other information slips are also due.
RRSP Contribution Deadline
Last day to contribute to your RRSP for the 2025 tax year. Contributions reduce your taxable income.
Personal Tax Return (T1) Due
Filing deadline for most individuals. Also the deadline for any balance owing.
Self-Employed Tax Return Due
Extended filing deadline for self-employed individuals. Note: Balance owing is still due April 30.
Corporate Tax Deadlines
Corporate Tax Return (T2) Due
Corporate tax returns must be filed within 6 months of the corporation's fiscal year-end.
Corporate Tax Payment Due
Balance owing is due 2 months after year-end (3 months for eligible CCPCs with income under $500,000).
Annual Return Filing
BC corporations must file an annual report with BC Registries.
GST/HST Filing Deadlines

Quarterly Instalment Dates
If you owe more than $3,000 in taxes (or $1,800 in Quebec), you may need to pay quarterly instalments to avoid interest charges.
